EDGE and brief:

The EDGE standard does not calculate points in the traditional way; instead, it evaluates projects based on the improvement in energy, water, and material efficiency compared to a local baseline building for comparison (Improved case vs. Base case). EDGE has three levels of certification: EDGE Certified (considered as basic), EDGE Advanced, and EDGE Zero Carbon (this certification requires not only meeting the advanced certification level but also not emitting additional CO2 during operation).

In order to achieve EDGE certification, your project needs to achieve at least a 20% saving/efficiency in three areas: energy, water and materials (totaling a minimum of 60%). Specifically, energy and water determine the level of savings, while materials determine the level of CO2 emission reduction.

When using low-carbon concrete, EDGE will assess the levels of CO2 emission reduction compared to using traditional concrete to determine the percentage of reduction. Here are the steps you can take to better understand the scoring:

1. Calculate the Baseline: First, you need to determine the CO2 emissions of regular concrete used in your project for various items.
2. Comparison and Efficiency Calculation:
   • Calculate the total CO2 emissions for the same amount of low-carbon concrete that you are using.
   • Compare this data with the baseline to determine the percentage reduction in emissions.

Tiêu chuẩn EDGE không tính điểm theo phương pháp truyền thống, mà đánh giá các dự án dựa trên mức độ cải thiện hiệu quả năng lượng, nguồn nước và nguồn vật liệu so với dự án chuẩn tại địa phương để làm so sánh (Improved case so với Base case).
